Terms of Use — INSTAR Lab
These terms govern use of instarlab.org, the website of INSTAR Lab Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research institute. The information is provided for general educational and organizational purposes. Last updated 4 October 2026.
Discuss a research requirement
Use the work responsibly
Respect intellectual property, attribution, privacy, and the limits stated alongside research materials. Do not use the site to interfere with service operation or misrepresent INSTAR’s work.
Research context is not a guarantee
Research descriptions, perspectives, and public materials are not a substitute for professional, legal, medical, financial, or safety advice. Verify time-sensitive information with the responsible source.
Federal funding information and partnerships
INSTAR Lab is an independent nonprofit. It is not a government agency, is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense, or any other agency, and does not sell proposal-writing, registration, or lobbying services. Funding guides on this site are general information that can change; confirm every deadline and rule with the agency’s own solicitation. Nothing here promises an award, a contract, a partnership, or a particular outcome for any applicant or company. Any collaboration is created only by a written agreement signed by both parties.
Fellowship and external applications
The R&D Scholar programs described on this site are voluntary research-development pathways. They do not promise employment, compensation, a stipend, visa sponsorship, a security clearance, funding, lab access, or advancement, and selection applies. Applications are made on usfellows.org, which owns that form and its terms; INSTAR Lab does not collect applications and does not charge anyone to read this site or to ask a question. Read the official guide and form for any terms US Fellows sets before submitting.
Forms and what you send us
Forms on this site are for general enquiries. Sending one does not create a partnership, a fellowship, an application, a contract, a gift or any commitment by INSTAR Lab; only a written agreement signed by both parties does. Fellowship applications are made on usfellows.org, and the Fellowship interest form here only tells us to expect you. Do not send classified, export-controlled, proprietary, health or other sensitive personal information in a form. How your submission is stored and used is described in the Privacy Policy.
Cookies, tracking tools and privacy choices
This site uses categories of tracking and campaign-management tools (analytics, advertising and campaign measurement, personalization and audiences, and partner and agency tools), only as described in the Privacy Policy and the Cookies and partners directory, and only in the categories you allow. In most regions we ask you to make a choice in a privacy dialog before you continue to use the site: Accept all, or Customize, keeping at least one optional category on. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, where the region cannot be determined, and where your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the dialog does not block use of the site and you may choose Necessary only. In every region you can open Privacy choices in the footer at any time to switch every optional category off. We may share data with service providers and advertising partners for these purposes, and keep Google Analytics event data for up to 14 months and Microsoft Clarity session recordings for up to 30 days. By using the site you agree to these terms; your choice in the dialog is your consent to the optional tools you allow, and you can withdraw it whenever you like. Do not interfere with, bypass, or misrepresent the dialog or your choice.

Warranty and liability
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. INSTAR Lab is not liable for losses arising from reliance on the site’s general information.
