Research overview

Research at a glance.

This page counts what the site publishes and where it comes from: program pages, open datasets, research briefs and listed outputs. Every number is counted from the site's own data when the site is built. Nothing here is typed in by hand.

These are counts of pages and sources, not measures of research results. Two things the site has not produced yet are shown plainly in the last section. For the full list of outputs, see research outputs.

2. Open data catalogue

60 datasets published by other organisations.

The open data catalogue lists public datasets, each linked to its publisher. INSTAR Lab did not produce any of them. The charts below count the catalogue by research area, by licence wording and by where the publisher is based.

Datasets by research area

26 research areas each list at least one dataset. The most datasets in one area is 8 (Economics). A dataset can sit in more than one area, so these counts add up to 99, not 60.

A dataset can belong to more than one area, so the bars add up to more than the number of datasets.

Each dataset is sorted by the licence wording the catalogue quotes from its publisher. A publisher's own terms can still limit reuse, so read them before using any dataset.

3. Research briefs

10 research briefs, with checked sources.

The research briefs are plain-language web articles. They are not peer reviewed. Each lists its sources, and every source is recorded in a ledger of checks (a DOI looked up at Crossref, or a web page fetched and its title read).

Checked sources per research brief

10 research briefs cite 55 sources between them, and 55 of those 55 appear in the site's source-check ledger. The brief with the most checked sources has 9.

4. Outputs

50 items on the outputs list.

The research outputs list gathers everything the site publishes that a reader can open. It counts pages and documents. It does not say how good or how widely used they are.

Listed outputs by type

5. What has not happened yet

Two counts that are zero.

INSTAR Lab has no peer-reviewed publication and no grant award. The chief executive officer attested to both on2026-09-13. That is Record source SRC-007, a statement by management, not an audit.

  • 0 peer-reviewed publications

Journal articles and conference papers that name an INSTAR Lab author.

Source: SRC-007, attested by the Chief Executive Officer, INSTAR Lab Inc. on 2026-09-13.

  • 0 grant awards

Grants awarded to INSTAR Lab by federal, state and private funders. The attestation does not name STTR or SBIR awards separately.

Source: SRC-007, attested by the Chief Executive Officer, INSTAR Lab Inc. on 2026-09-13.

To see what an STTR award looks like in a public record, read the 6 case studies of other organisations' awards. INSTAR Lab was not involved in any of them, and they are not counted on this page.
